there you were, gorgeous as you could be. I had never seen you before, maybe in long lost dreams.
But you were there.
And I was too.
And so was the world.
Hours passed, and we lived throughout those hours like the world didn’t matter. Physical tiredness didn’t affect us. Worries didn’t either. You had already finished an important milestone in your career with highest honors. I had come into the picture by mere chance. In a blink, the night was over and the sun was peeking over the overcast clouds like heartbreakers sneaking out of rooms after the night of their lives.
And just as I had started to figure it out, you were already out of sight.
and out of reach.
By mere chance I saw you again, dressed with all your professionalism, enthusiasm and pride of representing your name and intellect. There you were, surrounded by loving supporters, taking confident strides within your own bubble of comfort. I pushed against the tides and introduced myself. I was glad to pop your bubble. I was glad to disturb your perfect order of events. Maybe a faint effort, but I seldom attend to those meaningless details. I was leaving you alone, anyways. I was leaving behind those long lost dreams – I was executing my memory of you and dumping the remains in the darkest alley of memory lane.
Call me a fool, but I know better than to mingle with someone like you.
It was nice to see you.
